Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the federal budget for the fiscal year 2026-27 in the National Assembly on Friday, the minister’s adviser has confirmed.
“Revised schedule: The Federal Budget FY 2026-27 will be presented in the National Assembly of Pakistan on 12 June 2026 by the Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb,” Adviser to the Finance Minister Khurram Shehzad wrote on X.
He said that prior to the budget presentation, the Pakistan Economic Survey FY 2025-26 will be launched by the Federal Minister for Finance & Revenue tomorrow at 2:20pm.
Earlier, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb reaffirmed that protecting citizens from rising global fuel prices remains the government’s top priority.
Responding to a calling attention notice in the Senate today, he said the government gave 129 billion rupees subsidy on petroleum products over a three-week period during the initial phase of the Middle East conflict.
The Finance Minister said the government subsequently transitioned to a targeted subsidy model to ensure that the benefits reached the public directly.
He noted that this targeted relief specifically shielded motorcyclists, the transport sector and small-scale farmers.
He said approximately 800,000 bikers have already benefited from this initiative, with 1.53 billion rupees disbursed so far through a highly transparent process.
