SUKKUR: An accountability court has extended the physical remand of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Syed Khursheed Shah in assets case for 15 days.
The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) presented Khursheed Shah before an accountability court.
A strict security arrangement was made for Khursheed Shah’s arrival in the accountability court.
A large number of PPP workers, including his son, MPA Syed Farukkuh Shah, his son-in-law and nephew, provincial minister Syed Owais Qadir Shah, MPA Manzoor Wasan, Sukkur Mayor Arslan Islam Shaikh, and others had gathered around the courthouse during the hearing to express solidarity with the leader.
The court extended the physical remand of the PPP leader for another 15 days and ordered to be presented before the court on 4th November.
On 18th September, the NAB arrested Shah in assets beyond known source of income case.
The NAB of Rawalpindi and Sukkur jointly carried the raid to arrest Shah. He was arrested from his house in Bani Gala.
Shah is facing charges of making assets amounting to Rs500 billion through illegal means.
According to the document, he faces charges of transferring an amnesty plot in Sukkur, Rohri, and Karachi.
It further reveals that Glamour Bungalow, Junejo Flour Mills, Mukesh Flour Mills including 83 other properties were made under Shah’s frontman, Pehlaj Rai.
