RAWALPINDI: The annual winter collective ‘Zarb-e-Hadeed’ training exercise is underway in Bahawalpur, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported.
According to the military’s wing, troops of Bahawalpur Corps are practicing drills and procedures as part of training exercise aimed at enhancing operational preparedness, synergy amongst various components of forces.
The exercise area covers a vast expanse of desert and plains, where the participating units are rehearsing various response measures under testing weather conditions, challenging terrain and actual battlefield environment. The participating units displayed a high level of synergy and professionalism during the assembly, move, tactical combat and firepower demonstration phases of the exercise.
Earlier in February, Pakistan Army troops took part in tactical drills aimed at improving skills in deserts as part of Exercise “Jidar-ul- Hadeed” in the Thar Desert. The ISPR said troops of the Karachi Corps participated in tactical drills and procedures training exercise.
On March 1, the fourth International Pakistan Army Team Spirit (PATS) Competition-2021 commenced at the National Counter-Terrorism Center Pabbi near Kharian.
The ISPR said the competition is designed to test tactical skills in physical and professional domains as well as the agility of the participating teams to generate responses in challenging real-time field scenarios.
The military’s media wing said that besides eight domestic teams of the Pakistan Army, teams from eight allied countries also participated in the competition. Teams from Jordan, Sri Lanka, Turkey and Uzbekistan participated whereas Morocco, Indonesia, Kazakhstan and Tajikistan were observers in the three days long competition.
