RAWALPINDI: Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Balochistan’s Lasbela district where he inaugurated a prefabricated village at Lal Gul Goth for flood-affected people in the area.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), livestock, personal belongings and infrastructure were completely destroyed due to recent floods in Lal Gulgoth.
“The newly developed village includes a primary school, lit by off-grid solar power and also provided with a tube well. The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) completed the project in record time as This was promised to the villagers by the Pakistan army,” the statement added.

The statement said that the COAS was briefed by Director General FWO Major General Kamal Azfar about the progress of flood victims’ rehabilitation work, ISPR said.
Later, General Bajwa interacted with the troops of Quetta Corps, FWO, Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan and Pakistan Coast Guards and appreciated their efforts during the rescue, relief and rehabilitation process in the recent floods.
Chairman NDMA Lt Gen Inam Haider and Chief Engineer Lt Gen Kashif Nazir also accompanied the Army Chief during the visit. Earlier, Corps Commander Quetta Lieutenant General Asif Ghafoor welcomed General Bajwa on his arrival.
