ISLAMABAD: The outgoing Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa paid farewell visit to President Arif Alvi and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif here on Monday, just a day before his retirement which is due for tomorrow, November 29. The meeting took place at President’s House and PM House, Islamabad.
According to officials, the President appreciated the services of General Qamar Javed Bajwa in the defense sector The President also appreciated the services of General Qamar Javed Bajwa for the country and Pakistan Army.
President Arif Alvi expressed his best wishes for the future of General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
It is pertinent to mention here that Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa was appointed as COAS on 29 November 2016 by the then prime minister Nawaz Sharif Prime Minister Sharif. After the completion of his first term of three years as the chief of the army staff, General Bajwa’s tenure as army chief was extended for another three years, starting from November 2019 until November 2022, by the former prime minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
