CALIFORNIA: In the wake of coronavirus outbreak across the globe, Apple has updated its website to let iPhone, iPad and Mac users know its okay to clean their devices with disinfectant wipes.
The advisory comes after outbreak coronavirus (COVID-19) around the world. It said via a 70 % isopropyl alcohol wipe or Clorox Disinfecting Wipes, users could smoothly wipe the hard, nonporous surfaces of the Apple phone.
It further said device parts could clean with disinfectant wipes such as the display, keyboard, or other exterior surfaces. The company said avoids getting moisture in any opening, and don’t submerge Apple product in any other cleaning agents.
Earlier Apple issued instructions against using anything other than water to clean its products. In reason, the company said some substances can wear down the oleophobic outside layer and touchscreen.
The company also suggests some instructions as precautionary measures for both users and device: The best is to use isopropyl alcohol. Apply a little quantity to a soft microfiber cloth and then wipe down your device.
In a pinch, an old but clean t-shirt will also do the trick. Shun spraying anything directly on the phone’s display. The user also needs to avoid paper towels as they can cause small abrasions.
