KARACHI: Despite the arrest of an alleged cocaine dealer known as Anmol alias “Pinky,” authorities have uncovered indications that the drug distribution network linked to the suspect continues to operate across Karachi.
According to investigators, members of the alleged network have adopted new methods to evade law enforcement scrutiny. Officials revealed that cocaine is now reportedly being delivered to customers concealed inside packets of snacks and papad, allowing suppliers to transport the narcotics without attracting suspicion.
Sources said the network has been using delivery riders to distribute the drugs to homes, bungalows, and restaurants across the city. Customers are allegedly instructed to collect multiple snack packets, with the cocaine hidden inside one of them.
Investigators further claimed that individuals associated with the network have circulated new digital payment details to customers, including online banking and mobile wallet accounts, to facilitate transactions while avoiding detection.
The development has raised questions about how the alleged network has continued operating despite the arrest and imprisonment of its alleged kingpin. Authorities are examining whether the activities are being coordinated by associates outside prison and are tracing financial transactions linked to the operation.
Law enforcement agencies have launched further investigations into the supply chain, delivery mechanism, and funding sources behind the alleged drug trafficking network.
Officials say efforts are underway to identify all individuals involved and dismantle the remaining structure of the operation. Authorities have not yet disclosed the number of suspects under investigation or whether additional arrests have been made.
The inquiry remains ongoing as investigators seek to determine the full extent of the network’s activities in Karachi.
