In Mayo Hospital, Lahore, the patients are facing severe problems due to the continuous shortage of medicines. Hospital sources said that medicines have not been available to patients for several days, and due to a shortage of medicines, patients are forced to buy expensive medicines from the market.
According to the hospital sources, the operations of the patients are also affected due to the non-availability of anesthesia drugs and injections.
The hospital administration has said that due to the shortage of medicines, the purchase was not made, as soon as the supply is available, the medicines will be provided to the patients.
On the other hand, medical store owners also say that they are facing a shortage of several other medicines including fever, epilepsy, liver, blood pressure, and blood thinners.
Pharmaceutical companies have refused to manufacture cheap drugs from expensive raw materials, following which patients have demanded the government take immediate notice of the shortage of drugs and ensure the supply of the drugs at the same time.
