Tensions between NATO and Russia over Ukraine have reached a critical pass, and there are genuine fears of a fresh conflict in Europe at any time. Russian troops are deployed near the Ukrainian border in full combat readiness, and the United States has traditionally been on the Ukrainian side of the border, along with many allies. However, the US presence is a form of arms donation for all. No country is ready to send troops to Ukraine to ensure its security.
To understand this crisis and its possible consequences, it is necessary to look into the past. The Soviet Union collapsed in the last decade of the twentieth century. At that time, there were the voices of the New World Order from the United States, and analysts claimed that the 21st century would belong to the US.
The 21st century began with the tragic 9/11 incident. The United States is a “superpower” to say the least, but if you look at its history, the country is more like a villain of Indian films. The hero of Indian films is usually the son of a retired schoolteacher or the only child of a poor widow with cancer. But when the villain decides to “conquer” the hero, he comes out with many allies on three Land Cruisers, eight jeeps and eleven motorcycles.
We saw this spectacle in the first war against Iraq. And the same spectacle we saw after 9/11 when the United States reached Afghanistan with the help of 44 countries as if it had gone to fight the aliens on Mars and did not know what kind of technology this creature would have?
Seeing the great success of the first two years, the US decided that one more front should be opened to increase its strength. And from here the journey of humiliation began. Iraq became a bone of contention that cannot be swallowed. Iran, which had always been believed to be the enemy, continued to strengthen its grip on Iraq under their cover.
When Barack Obama came, the misfortune reached its climax, with trillions of dollars being spent in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the economic crisis engulfing the United States. Fighting Iran in Iraq could be a terrible mistake in this dire situation. In Shiite-majority Iraq, it was already facing resistance from Sunnis. In such a situation, the US could not make a mistake by declaring fight against Iran.
There was no room for error during a major global financial crisis. But the United States was present on two battlefields. Now, the US had to take step as per the current situation. Under these circumstances, Obama and the US establishment came up with the idea that instead of fighting Iran, it should be given the same status as Saudi Arabia.
And for the next 70 years, the dominance of Shiite countries in the Middle East should be established. The Arab Spring was the beginning of that policy. But the situation deteriorated in Egypt. The People’s Revolution was replaced by the “Brotherhood Revolution”. Thus, the expiation for removing Hosni Mubarak was paid by bringing Sisi.
On the other hand, the situation in Libya also got out of control. The US ambassador was killed there and the United States was unable to extend some help. This shocked not only Obama but also the US establishment. Syria proved to be the most important field in this game. Syria’s rulers realized that the United States was pursuing a plan to give Iran supremacy by setting an example for them.
The war was shifted to Yemen to weaken the Saudis’ grip on Syria, while Turkey also weighed in on Syria, which brought much relief to the Saudis. But most importantly, Russia had arrived in Syria with military force in support of Bashar al-Assad. With the arrival of Russia, the situation became so ridiculous for Barack Obama and the US establishment that they had planned to bring Shiite countries into their camp. The country had to defend Damascus, but the Russians were already deployed there.
Russia defended Bashar al-Assad, but did not make any concessions to the Arab world. With this strategy, Russia convinced the Arabs that it had no intentions against them. The biggest political impact of Russia’s presence in Syria was that the US was active in making the 21st century its own. And America thought that after the collapse of the Soviet Union, there would be no one to challenge it. But only ten or twelve years later Russia once again stand in the way of the United States.
The United States began playing games in Ukraine to turn the Gulf situation in its favor. In November 2013, when Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych scrapped plans to join the European Union, the United States and the EU staged a popular uprising against the president-elect.
Like Tahrir Square, camps were set up in “Central Square” in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv. It is noteworthy that desi liberals insist that in a liberal democracy there is only room for “peaceful demonstrations”. And that the end of the elected government through siege, attacks on government property, is “haram”. But that’s what the United States did in Ukraine.
It also set fire to government buildings and provided weapons to protesters. At the time, the American arrogance in Ukraine was such that instead of doing all this in secret, it was making it so public that its diplomats would go to the central square every day to applaud the protesters.
The United States managed to get Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych out of the country through this violence, but a few weeks later it could not stop the occupation of the Ukrainian island of Crimea by Russia. Not only that, but the Ukrainian mainland could not be saved from Russian artillery.
Russia did not stop there, but for the first time in history, it began interfering in the American political system. And to the extent that American liberals have no doubt that Vladimir Putin’s “Fifth Generation War” played a key role in bringing Donald Trump to power.
But the spectacle is that the American liberals refused to accept Donald Trump’s victory. Trump’s presidency began with violent protests. And the protesters were issuing the same writ: “He is a Russian agent.” Now look at the irony that desi liberals say only Muslims do such outdated things as “Jewish conspiracy”.
Civilized nations do not value conspiracy theories. But none other than the Liberals in the United States were beating the drum of the “Russian conspiracy.” Throughout Trump’s presidency, the issue of his secret contacts with Putin prevailed. The Attorney General’s Office also conducted a special investigation. If you look at Trump’s own statements, he has openly said that the policy of the US establishment to make Russia its permanent enemy is unacceptable.
This is the position of millions of supporters of Donald Trump that Russia is not their enemy. And that US policy towards Russia is absolutely wrong. The issue has escalated to the point that in the current war situation in Ukraine, Fox News of the United States is broadcasting programs in support of Russia.
If we look back to the Gulf, Trump, during his presidency, rolled back the plan of Barack Obama and the US Establishment to replace the Arab countries with the Shiite ones. He also trashed Obama and Europe’s nuclear deal with Iran, restored relations with Saudi Arabia, and killed Iranian General Qasim Soleimani in a drone strike.
However, as soon as Biden came to power, he published an investigative report against Muhammad bin Salman, indicating that he intended to take on the role of Barack Obama. But the condition of American liberal leader Joe Biden is pitiable. Trump’s sphere of influence is expanding day by day. And liberals look helpless in the face of it.
As 2022 begins, US liberals fear that Trump supporters will gain the upper hand in Congress in the November midterm elections. Not only will this dissolve the select committee that has been tightening the noose around Trump, but Republicans will also ban Biden, whom they consider the occupying president, after November. And that could lead to Trump’s re-election in 2024, or the election of a Trump supporter as president.
Can’t say for sure whether Russia will invade Ukraine or not? But if that happened then the United States would not be able to do anything about it. Because Joe Biden is well aware that the domestic situation in the United States does not allow him to stand in Putin’s way.
The attack on Capitol Hill on January 6, 2021, was exactly what the United States has been doing in Ukraine, Kyrgyzstan and Georgia. Putin has acquired the power to respond to the United States in the American style. The US internal situation does not allow it to get involved with a nuclear power like Russia. Despite the help of 44 countries, will the United States, which has been defeated by the gypsy clerics of Afghanistan, be able to fight Russia?
