Already aware of India declining Trump’s mediation offer: Qureshi

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday said that Pakistan was anticipating that India would reject the mediation offer of the United States over Kashmir dispute.
In response to Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar’s comment, Qureshi said, “We were already aware of the Indian reaction that they would never accept the Trump’s offer.”
He said that India never wanted to talk nor mediate.
Qureshi said that he would write a letter to the United Nations on the situation in which would highlight the Indian firing along the LoC and human rights abuse in held Kashmir.
Earlier today, Indian Minister of External Affairs Subrahmanyam Jaishankar said that any discussion on the Kashmir issue will take place bilaterally and only with Pakistan.
Jaishankar denied US President Donald Trump’s statement about offering mediation to both countries on the Kashmir dispute.
