LAHORE: Famous singer Ali Zafar has paid a tribute to the globally renowned Pakistani mountaineer Ali Sadpara, who has gone missing along with two foreign climbers during his K2 winter expedition.
The singer Ali released a musical tribute ‘Tum Chalay Ao Paharon Ki Qasam‘ for Sadpara on his YouTube channel. Ali Zafar released his version of the same song that Sadpara was singing with his mates.
“No nation can thrive without recognising and celebrating their heroes. Ali Sadpara was one such unsung hero who dedicated his entire life and risked it to accomplish unprecedented feats for his country, Zafar wrote in a post on his Facebook account.
“Sadpara was one such unsung hero who dedicated his entire life in his melodious voice that tugs at the heartstrings,” he said. It is to be noted that Sadpara, the only Pakistani to have climbed eight of the world’s 14 highest mountains, had gone missing along with two foreign climbers, John Snorri from Iceland & MP Mohr from Chile earlier this month.

They were expected to head to K2 in the winter on 5th February, however, lost contact with base camp. Sadpara made the first-ever winter ascent of the world’s ninth highest peak, Nanga Parbat, and had successfully summited the 8,611-metre K2 — the world’s second-highest mountain.
