GENEVA: Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations Munir Akram has said that the provision of aid to Afghanistan is not against international law while the Security Council has adopted a resolution on aid.
According to details, briefing the media after the approval of the resolution in favour of Afghanistan, Munir Akram said that the Security Council adopted a resolution on aid to Afghanistan while providing aid is not a violation of international law.
During the media briefing, Munir Akram said that the resolution was presented by the United States in the Security Council while Pakistan, China, and Russia contacted the member countries regarding the resolution. The passage of the resolution will provide immediate relief to Afghanistan.

The Permanent Representative of Pakistan said that the assistance would be provided to Afghanistan through UN agencies. An additional 4.3 billion in aid has been requested for Afghanistan. It is hoped that the frozen accounts will be restored after this resolution.
It should be noted that the international community has frozen the overseas accounts of Afghanistan. Permanent Representative Munir Akram said that the vision of the prime minister proved to be important for the approval of the resolution. PM Imran Khan had expressed concern over sanctions on Afghanistan.
