ISLAMABAD: The agreement between the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Pakistan is likely to be finalized today, which is expected to improve the country’s economy.
According to the details, Federal Finance Minister Ishaq Dar met the mission chief of the IMF and the delegation yesterday, during which the progress on the negotiations between Pakistan and the IMF was discussed.
The IMF Mission Chief briefed the Finance Minister on the progress of the negotiations. IMF and Pakistan have agreed on measures for economic reforms and debt tranche release.

Some media reports have said that on the last day of negotiations with the IMF, the draft of mutual economic and financial policy is likely to be finalized, under which an agreement is expected to be reached.
Earlier, the Minister of State for Finance Aisha Ghaus Pasha said that the decisions taken in the negotiations have been informed to the prime minister and the decisions have been approved. It is important that Pakistan and IMF have an agreement, she said.
