LAHORE: Bollywood actor Sunny Deol is expected to reach Pakistan on Saturday to attend the inaugural ceremony of the Kartarpur Corridor.
The actor turned politician is a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmaker from India’s Gurdaspur district.
India had sent a list of the 550-member delegation who will be attending the inauguration on 9th November.
Earlier this week, the attendance of Sunny Deol’s arrival in Pakistan was approved by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh of India’s Punjab.

Apart from Deol, the first group of Sikh pilgrims includes former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, and Union Ministers Hardeep Puri and Harsimrat Kaur Badal. Congress MLA Navjot Singh Sidhu was also given political clearance to visit the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib by the foreign ministry.
Prime Minister Khan will inaugurate the Kartarpur corridor on November 9, ahead of the 550th birth anniversary celebrations of Baba Guru Nanak. Pakistan and India signed an agreement last month after tough negotiations.

Darbar Sahib Kartarpur is located 4.5km from the international border in Narowal district and is one of the holiest places for Sikhs.
Kartarpur is a visa-free corridor where Sikh pilgrims can come after getting their passports scanned and bio passport scanned, and biometric confirmation with a nominal payment of service charges of only 20 dollars per head. The pilgrims will come in the morning and will return in the evening.
Pakistan and India signed an agreement in October paving the way for the inauguration of the Kartarpur corridor tomorrow.
