A notice has been issued to social media activist Sheikh Saira from Sialkot following a complaint filed by Khawaja Saad Rafique, a senior leader of Pakistan Muslim League (N) and former federal minister, regarding alleged character assassination.

Following the notice, an emotional video of Sheikh Saira has surfaced online.

According to details, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) took action on the complaint filed by Khawaja Saad Rafique and summoned Sheikh Saira, after which a video of her went viral on social media.

In the video, Sheikh Saira is seen crying and stating that she had always respected Khawaja Saad Rafique. She said that if any tweet or retweet had caused misunderstanding, she apologised for it.

She further stated that she had been summoned from Sialkot to Islamabad, adding that she is a woman living alone without a father or husband, and questioned how she would manage to travel.

She also questioned what kind of justice it was for an ordinary woman to be summoned in such a manner, although she simultaneously indicated that she would respect the legal process.

It is worth noting that a few days earlier, Khawaja Saad Rafique had filed an application with the NCCIA seeking action under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act 2016 against individuals allegedly involved in spreading false and baseless accusations and conducting a smear campaign against him on social media in relation to the “Constitution One Project.”
