Amna Urooj, one of the suspects in the alleged abduction of renowned Pakistani drama writer Khalil ur Rehman Qamar, has accused the dramatist of blackmailing her with explicit videos.
During a recent hearing at the Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) in Lahore, where Judge Arshad Javed approved a four-day physical remand for Urooj in the honey-trap case, Urooj claimed that Qamar had pressured her into a relationship and promised her opportunities in acting and modeling. She further alleged that Qamar was using these videos to blackmail her.
Urooj’s lawyer also claimed that Qamar had illicit videos of her, which he used to coerce her into engaging in sexual relations. According to the lawyer, Urooj sought the assistance of Hasan Shah to delete these videos. Qamar was then invited to Urooj’s Bahria Town residence under the guise of discussing a drama series. Upon arrival, Qamar was reportedly detained and robbed at gunpoint by Shah and his accomplices, and Urooj was also allegedly detained by the kidnappers.
The lawyer said that Urooj was being blackmailed from both sides and that her initial statement was made under duress while she was in custody. He asserted that she is not involved in any criminal activities.
