ABU DHABI: The UAE’s capital has been named the safest place in the world to live for the fifth year in a row.
In the Numbeo’s Quality of Life index, the city has been declared safest for the fifth consecutive year as Abu Dhabi won the title against 431 cities of the world. According to the international news agency, the emirate’s score is 88.46 percent.On a social media post, General Staff Pilot Faris Al Mazrouei, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police said, “This is a testament to the security and stability Abu Dhabi enjoys.”

As per the index report, Abu Dhabi has scored 88.5 percent on its safety bar. It has also scored 11.5 percent on the crime scale, one of the lowest in the world.
Besides, Dubai and Sharjah are also included in the list of top 10. Dubai scores 83.49 percent, while Sharjah scores 83.59 percent in the safety index.
The Numbeo database publishes its annual reports since 2009, based on the measurement of the crime rate in the countries of the world.
The index of crimes in countries is measured according to the laws of those countries as it considers that there are acts that constitute crimes in some countries dissimilar to other countries, which gives a real measure of the rate of crime in countries in accordance with applicable laws.
