ISLAMABAD: Journalist Matiullah Jan has been recovered hours after his abduction from Islamabad.
Senior journalist Matiullah Jan, who was abducted from Islamabad this morning, has released home.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability Barrister Shahzad Akbar has ordered Inspector General Police Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT), Aamir Zulfiqar Khan, to recover the abducted senior journalist Matiullah Jan within the next 24 hours.
Taking notice of the reported abduction of senior anchorperson from Islamabad, he directed the ICT Police to register FIR of the kidnapping of the journalist.
“The abduction of Matiullah Jan is unacceptable. I’ve instructed IGP Islamabad for immediate action for retrieval and registration of First Information Report (FIR),” Shahzad Akbar tweeted.

The Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) revealed that journalist Matiullah Jan has been reportedly gone missing.
In a tweet, the commission demanded the government ensure the safe recovery of the journalist after reports emerged that he had gone missing in Islamabad.
