Aamir Liaquat Hussain shifted to hospital as health deteriorates

KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek e Insaf lawmaker Aamir Liaquat Hussain has been shifted to hospital after he tested positive for COVID-19.

According to sources, the health of Aamir Liaquat deteriorated earlier today as he has been quarantined at home for the past few days since he tested positive for the novel COVID-19. He had been coughing non-stop and facing trouble breathing, sources informed.

The family of the politician and TV-host Aamir Liaquat Hussain confirmed he has been shifted to a local hospital for medical treatment.

Earlier, Hussain announced on social media that he and his wife tested positive for COVID-19 and requested prayers.

Several Pakistani politicians including PML-N president Shahbaz Sharif, ANP’s Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, Sindh education minister Saeed Ghani, National Assembly Speaker Asad Qaiser, and Punjab Assembly Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari had tested positive for coronavirus, after which they went into self-isolation and recovered.

PTI Punjab Member of Provincial Assembly (MPA) Shaheen Raza was the first lawmaker in the country who died due to COVID-19 a few months ago.

PTI MPA Mian Jamsheduddin Kakakhel from Nowshera and PML-N MPA Shaukat Manzoor Cheema from Gujranwala also passed away in June after being on the ventilator for a few days.
