Naseebo Lal’s ‘Groove Mera’
PSL anthem featured legendary singer Naseebo Lal, who is famous for folk singing but she nailed her groove in PSL’s ‘Groove Mera’.
Besides Lal, Aima Baig and rapping duo Young Stunners made headlines not only in Pakistan but in Indian also. The women-led anthem grabbed equal negative and positive attention.
Nomination for Grammy
Arooj Aftab became the first Pakistani to be nominated in the best new artist category for the Grammy Awards.
Pakistani music sensation Arooj Aftab’s nomination marked the first time that a Pakistani woman was recognized by the recording academy, making history for Pakistan and South Asia as well.
No more ‘Strings’ attached
Pakistani pop-rock band Strings parted ways after 33 years. The band members Bilal Maqsood and Faisal Kapadia announced the split on in March.
Strings compositions were not limited to Pakistan only but the duo had composed many songs for Hollywood and Bollywood also.
Set own Guinness record
Earlier this month, Pakistan set a Guinness World Record for the most cars at a drive-in music concert. The achievement came at an event in Islamabad featuring singers Bilal Khan, Ali Azmat, and Atif Aslam, and was organized by a group.

Hot Mango Chutney Sauce is not everyone’s bowl of souvenirs. With the collaboration of Eman Suleman, Swineryy, and Abdullah Siddiqui, Meesha Shafi created a ‘Hot Mango Chutney Sauce’ song. Dubstep-ed and slightly altered version of a popular desi tongue twister whispered, this song is everything.
