ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has administered more than 30 million doses of vaccinations against COVID-19 as the inoculation has been expedited amid the fourth wave.
This was stated by Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar in a tweet on Sunday. He said the first ten million vaccinations took 113 days, the second ten million 28 days and the third ten million jabs took only 16 days.
The Minister said the pace of vaccination has rapidly increased in the country. He said all six days this week were a record, as 934,000 people received vaccinations yesterday (Saturday). He said five million vaccinations were done in last six days.

Meanwhile, Pakistan’s daily coronavirus case count crossed the 5,000 mark for the first time in five months. The NCOC reported 5,026 fresh cases in the country on Sunday morning which is April 29.
According to the NCOC’s latest stats, 56,965 coronavirus tests were conducted during the last 24 hours, out of which 5,026 turned out to be positive. At present, the COVID-19 positivity rate in the country stands at 8.82%, said the NCOC.
The novel coronavirus has claimed 62 more lives in the last 24 hours, pushing the national death tally to 23,422. Pakistan’s fight against coronavirus continues to get worse amid the presence of the Delta variant.
