PESHAWAR: Two men have been arrested for brutally torturing their sister and her mother-in-law over a property dispute.
The incident occurred in Amin Colony on Kohat Road when two men were seen entering a house and attacking two women as video of the violence went viral.
Mohammad Arsalan had shared the video of the incident on social media, saying that three of this maternal uncles had attacked his mother and grandmother when others were not at home.
“I never imagined I will do this. I am uploading this video in position of very helplessness. Today my three maternal uncle attacked my mother when I and my brother were not home. They attacked and badly beat my mother and grandmother. Police is not taking action to help us. Please spread this before we lose our lives please,” he pleaded on social media.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police have taken immediate action and arrested the accused. The video shows the two suspects attacking a woman mercilessly with a helmet and hammer.
Capital City Police took immediate action and arrested two accused Aftab and Arshad, residents of Amin Colony, and shited them to police lockup.
During interrogation, both suspects have confessed to torturing their real sister Masmaat for demanding a share in the ancestral house. Police said that further investigation has started from the suspects.
The local police shifted the woman to the hospital for medical treatment and examination from where a case will be registered against the accused at Bhana Mari police station. Following the release of the video, social media users expressed outrage and demanded that the accused be brought to justice.
