Pakistan’s exports to UK show 31 percent growth

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood HAS said that Pakistan’s exports to the United Kingdom (UK) have grown by 31 percent this year.

On a social media website Twitter, Abdul Razak Dawood said the exports to the UK have grown by 31 percent to USD 1.709 billion during July-April 2021 from USD 1.309 billion in July-April 2020.

“It is the highest-ever volume of exports to the UK in a 10-month period, whereas, the remittances from Britain have also increased by 62 percent during July-March 2021,” he added.

Razak Dawood said that he has encouraged the exporters to consolidate their exports to the UK. The adviser said he has also commended the efforts of trade and investment officers of the Ministry of Commerce and urged them to facilitate exporters and investors.

Earlier, Abdul Razak Dawood had said that the country’s exports are back to the Pre-Covid levels, with positive growth of over $2 billion in October.

On a social media website Twitter, he said, “Exports have maintained the growth trend in October 2020. Our exports have crossed the 2 billion mark after July 2020 and are back on track to pre-COVID-19 levels,”

“This is despite the contraction in our major markets due to COVID-19 and the uncertainty created by the recent resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic,” the adviser added.
