KARACHI: Teenage student of Karachi who despite meagre resources built his own messaging application based on many advanced features, has shared his pain full journey for developing the ‘FF Family’ app after three years of hard work.
In an exclusive interview with MM News, Nabeel Haider, a ninth-grade resident from Federal B Area in the metropolis, said his family consists of four members including parents and a younger brother.
Nabeel said, “My father had lost his job some time ago and it was difficult for my parents to teach me and my younger brother.” In such a situation, his parents decided to continue Nabeel’s study due to financial difficulties and his younger brother was picked up from school.
The 15-year-old boy said to bring change in his circumstances he decided to do something unique so that his parents would be proud and their financial problems would end. In this effort, he developed this application.
Nabeel told that he requested his father to arrange a laptop for him. “After arranging money for a long time, my father bought me an old laptop. And being second hand, I had a hard time using it,” he added.
However, after three years of hard work he able to develop the ‘FF Family’ app that he built on the pattern of Whatsapp, using his near-obsolete laptop since his father was jobless for the past four years and he could not afford to buy him a new computer.
“Some people are criticizing my attempt in the sense that I have linked my FF meeting to the telegram but I am not upset by their criticism, it is their right to criticize but Let me tell you that I am not in a position to buy my own server due to my financial situation at home,” he regretted.
“It requires a code from Telegram when creating an ID but no need to worry about it, it is safe even if it is connected to Telegram,” he claimed. Nabil Haider said that the FF meeting is completely secure and a message can be sent to 500,000 people at a time.
He said that so far more than 100,000 users have joined the FF meeting which is Encouraging for him. It will soon be used by the majority of Pakistanis and a large number of foreign users, he hoped.
On this occasion, Nabil Haider’s father Zulfiqar Haider said that it was a very difficult time for Nabeel when his younger brother had to drop out of school to continue his studies but this difficult decision was proved for the better future of Nabeel.
“Now that Nabil has raised our heads with pride, I have no grief, and my family is very happy,” he said. He informed that since the announcement of the FF meeting on the media, only the Federal Minister for Information Technology Syed Aminul Haq met them.
Recently, Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecom Aminul Haque had offered government support to a teenage student of Karachi.
The video went viral on social media and, though there was some criticism of the app, an overwhelming majority of social media users praised the boy and demanded that the government do something for him so that his talent could not go waste.
