ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed has claimed that Prime Minister Imran Khan knows the names of 17 members of the treasury benches who voted against the government during the Senate elections.
Talking to a private news channel, the interior minister claimed that the buying and selling of votes took place before the Senate elections and out of the 17 members, 13 took money from the Opposition to vote against the government.
“The credit for buying and selling of votes goes to PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari,” he said. When asked if he knew the names of the lawmakers, Sheikh Rasheed said, “If Imran Khan knows it then I also know it. I have seen the list in a file but didn’t open it.”
Sheikh Rasheed also condemned the clash between the PTI workers and the PML-N leaders in Islamabad a few days ago. He added that PML-N workers should have held a press conference at a designated location to avoid such untoward incidents.
On the civil-military front, the minister said that there wasn’t a trust deficit between Prime Minister Imran Khan and the establishment. “The institutions and the army are standing by Imran Khan’s elected government,” he added.
