The opposition was a supporter of the system based on rigging and a hurdle in the way of transparency while the government stood firm with its unwavering commitment to transparency in the electoral process, the PM  added. “Sadiq Sanjrani is a strong candidate for the top Senate slot”, he said hoped that he would win the election.

Besides, PM Imran lashed out at PDM’s joint candidate for the post of Senate chairman, Yousaf Raza Gilani, adding that the PPP leader had “smashed the concept of morality in politics and the whole nation is watching his actions”.

The PDM used the money to come first in the Islamabad seat, he said, referring to Hafeez Shaikh’s surprise loss to former Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani.
