ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui has inaugurated mobile App “Durust Daam” at National Information Technology Board (NITB) on Tuesday.

“Durust Daam” App will be helpful to control profiteering by shopkeepers. Through the app citizens of Islamabad will be able to know updated prices of essential commodities like poultry, vegetables, fruits and other items.

“Durust Daam” App will also enable citizens to register complaints against shopkeepers violating the listed prices.

Speaking on the occasion, the federal minister for IT said that “Durust Daam” App will be helpful in transparency and good governance.

He said that steps like this must be taken across the country. The Federal Minister for IT appreciated NITB for developing the App.

Last week, the capital administration announced to launch a new mobile phone app to curb profiteering by shopkeepers and ensuring the correct price of essential items.

Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Muhammad Shafqat Hamza made the announcement in a statement on the social media site Twitter.

He said that the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration in collaboration with the National Information Technology Board will launch a mobile phone app namely Durust Dam (exact price) to control profiteering.

“The App will enable citizens to view daily prices of essential commodities including fruits, vegetables, and poultry products besides complaints registration,” he said.

Previously, citizens were asked to lodge complaints on Pakistan Citizens Portal App. Price magistrates are appointed to regularly visit their respective areas to ensure price control and penalise profiteers.
