RAWALPINDI: Russian Presidential Envoy to Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at GHQ.
During the meeting matters of mutual interest, regional security situation particularly developments in Afghan Peace Process were discussed. According to the Inter-Services Public relations, General Bajwa said that peace in both countries is in the greater interest of the region.
The visiting dignitary appreciated the positive role being played by Pakistan for the Afghan Peace Process. He hoped that Pak-Russia relations will continue to prosper manifolds. Both sides reiterated the commitment to enhance bilateral relations.
The Russian Presidential Envoy for Afghanistan Zamir Kabulov is visiting Islamabad for a one-day visit. He will call on Foreign Minister Makhdoom Shah Mahmood Qureshi and meet with Special Representative for Afghanistan and other dignitaries and exchange views on the latest developments in the Afghan peace process.
The Foreign Office said the visit of Kabulov is part of Pakistan’s diplomatic outreach in support of the Afghan peace process. Besides the exchange of views on the Afghan peace process, the visit will contribute to further strengthening Pakistan-Russia bilateral cooperation, the statement added.
