MOSCOW: Russian President Vladimir Putin’s spokesman Dmitry Peskov has claimed that by the summer, 60 percent of the world’s population will be immune to the coronavirus.

According to the World News Agency, Dmitry Peskov said by gaining immunity against the coronavirus, the world will once again return to normal. Russian presidential spokesman Peskov said the world’s population would now have to rely on resistance to the virus.

He said that the required resistance would be achieved by this summer. The coronavirus, known as the global epidemic, has overturned the entire world system in the past year.

A vaccine to prevent coronavirus has also been developed, but the world has not yet been protected from it, and according to international media, four new strains of the virus have forced scientists to think more.

A new surge in coronavirus cases puts Russia at the second-highest number of infections in the world after the United States. More than 3,983,197 cases and 77,068 deaths have been recorded in Russia, according to data from Johns Hopkins University.
