LAHORE: The Punjab government has to release the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz on parole.
The cabinet sub-committee on home affairs of the Punjab government will send recommendations to the Punjab chief minister today. Earlier, the Home Ministry had sent its recommendations to the sub-committee on parole.
The Home Department also sent the statement and requests of the Prisons Department and after the recommendations of the Sub-Committee on Home Affairs, the Punjab chief minister will give his approval today.
The parole period will be determined in the light of the recommendations of the sub-committee admission. According to sources, the funeral prayers of Shehbaz Sharif’s mother will be offered at Regent Park Mosque in Lahore.

Begum Shamim Akhtar, passed away in London on Sunday. She had left for London in February despite being unwell to be with Sharif, who is there for medical treatment since late last year.
According to PML-N leaders, Begum Shamim was almost 94 years old and seriously ill for the past several months but she wanted to be in London for the former premier’s cardiac intervention. Her condition had become critical since last week.
According to family sources, Begum Shamim Akhtar had Alzheimer’s disease and a severe chest infection.
PML-N leader Ataullah Tarar said that Nawaz Sharif would not be able to return home till he received instructions from doctors. The parole application of Shehbaz Sharif and Hamza Shahbaz has been submitted to the Deputy Commissioner.
