Opposition is bent on being irresponsible: Shibli Faraz

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Shibli Faraz has said that the opposition is bent on proving irresponsibility.

Senator Shibli FarazSenator Shibli Faraz said in a statement that the opposition’s insistence on holding a rally was a reflection of undemocratic thinking and irresponsible behavior. There is no legal or moral justification for holding a meeting following court and government orders, the minister for information and broadcasting said.

“Playing with people’s health and lives for personal gain is the greatest selfishness,” he said. Shibli Faraz added that in case of an increase in cases in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a case would be registered against the opposition leaders and the organizers of the rally.

Earlier, Federal Minister for Planning Asad Umar had said that the opposition would gain nothing from the meetings except endangering the people. Addressing a joint press conference with Sindh Governor Imran Ismail, he said that the federation was cooperating with the Sindh government in all matters.

Asad Umar said that the transport system in Karachi is being improved, all the problems of Karachi will be solved on a priority basis. He said that the Prime Minister wanted to progress in development projects in Karachi, work on development projects in the city was also in full swing and illegal encroachments on drains were being removed.
