ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has completed a 20-year-old inquiry against former prime minister Nawaz Sharif over his illegally allotting plots of the Lahore Development Authority.
According to sources, the Combined Investigation Team has sent a sealed report regarding the inquiry to the DG NAB. The prosecution wing will give a legal opinion on the CIT report at the regional board meeting.
A complaint was received against Nawaz Sharif on 3rd April 2000. NAB officials said that after an inquiry is completed, the final decision is taken at the executive board meeting.
The meeting of the Executive Board is chaired by the Chairman NAB. Grade-19 and high profile cases are approved by the Executive Board.

According to the petitioner, Nawaz Sharif along with DG LDA gave an examination of plots. Nawaz Sharif abolished the quota of plots and allotted plots to the people of his choice.
Nawaz Sharif’s spokesman Muhammad Zubair said that cases were made against the former prime minister on political grounds. Not a single allegation of corruption has been proved against him, the spokesperson maintained.
