CDA supervisor involved in illegal sale of public lands

ISLAMABAD: Illegal construction continues unabated on public lands of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) while authorities have failed to take any action.

The sale of public lands continues with impunity in the Noorpur Shahan locality, home to the shrine of revered saint Bari Imam. The protection of lands in the area was the foremost responsibility of the CDA.

The authorities had handed over the lands to supervisor Nadeem who ended up being a property dealer and started selling the lands in the area. Sources informed that lands are being sold in connivance of the Enforcement Wing of the CDA.

The residents of Bari Imam Noorpur Shanan said a gang operates in the locality under the support of Nadeem involving in illegal construction and sale and purchase of public lands.

The residents complained that no action had been taken despite by higher CDA officials. They alleged that Mairaj Shah who is a son of a government official is also supporting Nadeem and is involved in the illegal construction of shops and houses.

Sources informed that tip-offs are received based on ill-intentions and a raid is conducted to receives bribes. These activities are being done by Nadeem. Residents also revealed that Nadeem has given 2-kanal land to his cousin Chaudhry Naeem in Mundial area where illegal constructions are underway.

The residents have demanded an investigation against CDA’s area in-charge and against supervisor Nadeem who are involved in these illegal activities and are fleecing the people.
