MUMABI: Bollywood actor Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora have tested positive for novel COVID-19 and isolated themselves at homes under the advice of doctors.
On a social media website, Instagram Arjun Kapoor wrote, “It is my duty to inform all of you that I have tested positive for coronavirus. I’m feeling ok and I’m asymptomatic.”
The actor further said, “I have isolated myself at home under the advice of doctors and authorities and will be under home quarantine.”
“I thank you all in advance for your support and I will keep you all updated about my health in the days to come,” he added.
“These are extraordinary and unprecedented times and I have faith that all of humanity will overcome this virus. Much love,” Arjun said
Malaika Arora is a judge on the dance reality show, India’s Best Dancer, the shoot of which was halted a couple of days ago after which some crew members tested positive. Now, reports suggest that Arora has also tested positive for COVID-19.
India federal health ministry has reported more than 90,000 cases of the novel COVID-19 on Sunday, a global daily record.
According to the data from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, there were 90,632 new cases during the last 24 hours, while the number of deaths rose by 1,065 to 70,626.
The country is set to pass Brazil on Monday as the second most affected country by total infections and will be behind only the United States, which has 6.4 million cases and nearly 193,000 deaths.
