KARACHI: President Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Karachi and Member Sindh Assembly (MPA) Khurram Sher Zaman has thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for announcing a historic package of Rs 1100 billion for the port city.
“The steps taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan for the development of Karachi and solution of its problems are commendable,” he said in a statement issued today (Saturday).
Commenting on the package, Khurram Sher Zaman said that package will help in resolving the major issues including cleaning of Karachi drains, completion of pending projects, transport, city roads, sewerage system, solid waste and water supply.
“The PTI-led federal government will extend all possible cooperation to the Sindh government in this regard,” he remarked. The PTI leader said that the provincial government should also cooperate with the Centre in order to resolve the Karachi’s issues.
He said, “Karachi is the economic hub of the country, the development of Karachi is the guarantor of the country’s development.” He also vowed that the people of Karachi would not be abandoned by the PTI-led federal government.
Earlier today (Saturday), Prime Minister Imran Khan announced a ‘historic’ relief package worth Rs1.1 trillion for development projects in Karachi, saying that the package will address the chronic municipal and infrastructure issues of the country’s financial hub.
