The world is now changed into a ‘global village’. This is the era of Information Technology where everyone uses technological devices daily, whether it is for work, studies or leisure. The information technology industry has seen many changes throughout its history, and at the current moment, it is worthwhile to think about what has come to define it.

However, the question of whether technology is good or bad still remains. Headlines like “Have smartphones destroyed the generation?” and “Smartphone addiction could be changing your brain” create suspicions among the users.

Certainly, there’s some reason to worry. The use of technology has been linked to serious issues, such as dwindling attention spans, crippling depression, and even increased incidence of brain cancer. With each passing day, we are becoming more and more dependent on technology for almost every task without even realizing it.

The efficiency of a task has also increased tenfold and this is the reason why the technology might be able to replace humans soon. As our access to technology grows, so does our willingness to incorporate these tools into the aspects of daily life. Vast amounts of data are collected from all of us every day.

Yet, one should no longer be judgmental on these opinions. We all are also familiar with the positivity of the technology. The point is Technology on its own is not good or evil. It is the choices that we make that can help or harm others. We must be disciplined with technology and we should use the technologies with some purpose. Our perspectives will help to shape the next generation and how they evolve tech to fit their world.
