KARACHI: Coronavirus cases in Pakistan have continued to decline as only 23 cases were reported in Balochistan in the past 24 hours.
The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 272,619  in Pakistan, while the death toll stands at 5,842. As per reports released by the Balochistan Health Department, 23 more people have been diagnosed with the virus in Balochistan.
The report further said that at least 133,569 people have been screened for the virus till July 26, out of which 45,934 were reported negative. At least 9,976 affected patients have been recovered from the coronavirus so far while 136 deaths were recorded due to the deadly virus in Balochistan.
The total number of infections in Punjab stands at 92,073, Sindh 118,311, 33,397 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 11,601 in Balochistan, 14,884 in Islamabad, 2,034 in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 1,989 in Gilgit Baltistan.

Out of a total of 5,709 deaths, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has reported 1,178 deaths, Sindh 2,151, Punjab 2,116, Balochistan 136, Gilgit-Baltistan 48, Azad Kashmir 49, and Islamabad Capital Territory has reported 164 deaths.
The recoveries in Punjab stand at 81,260, Sindh 107,403, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 27,119, Islamabad 12,253, Balochistan 9,976, Gilgit-Baltistan 1,566, and Azad Jammu Kashmir 1,449.
Pakistan’s daily coronavirus tally continued to fall, as the country recorded few new cases over the past 24 hours, the lowest single-day sum since May.
However, health experts cautioned that a sharp fall in the number of COVID-19 cases could be the result of fewer tests. Neighboring India, hardest hit by the virus in the region, is currently doing 15 times more tests daily than Pakistan.
