ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has visited the construction site of the Diamer-Bhasha Dam project in Gilgit-Baltistan.
Chairman China Pakistan Economic Corridor Authority Lt General (Retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa is accompanying the prime minister.
“Mobilisation for Diamer Bhasha: Historic milestone as PM kicks off mega construction work at Diamer Bhasha Dam today,” said the CPEC Authority chairman, who also serves as special assistant to the prime minister on information.
The dam will include a 6.4 MAF water reservoir and will add 1.2 million acres for agriculture, 4500 MW cheaper, greener Hydel power, boost the steel, cement and construction boost and provide 16,000 jobs.
Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Director General ISI Lt. General Faiz Hameed were also present on the occasion.
