KARACHI: The Government of Sindh has approved the grant of ‘Adhoc Relief Allowance-2020’ for the provincial government employees.
According to office memorandum of the Government of Sindh Finance Department, “Government of Sindh has been pleased to sanction with effect from 1t July 2020, and till further orders an Adhoc Relief Allowance-2020 at 10 percent of Basic Pay to BPS 1 to 16 and 5pc of Basic Pay to BPS 17 and above civil employees of the Sindh Government”.
Adhoc Relief Allowance-2020 would also for contingent paid staff and contract employees employed against civil posts in Basic Pay Scale on standard terms and conditions of contract appointments.”
As per the memo, the allowance will be subject to income tax, and will not be admissible to the employees during the tenure of their posting/ deputation abroad.
The Adhoc Relief Allowance-2020 shall be accommodated within the budgetary allocation for the FY2020-21, by their respective departments and no supplementary grants would be given to this account, read the memo.
It is worth mentioning here earlier in his budget speech; CM Shah had announced that the salaries of Grade 1-16 government employees would be increased by 10 percent, while those of Grade 17-21 would receive a 5 percent raise. The upward revision, however, would not be applicable to provincial ministers and Sindh cabinet, he added.
