PM condemns terrorist attack on PSX building

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has condemned the terrorist attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange building in Karachi on Monday which was thwarted by law enforcement agencies.
In a statement, the prime minister said members of the law enforcement agencies courageously took on the terrorists and foiled their bid. He said the entire nation is proud of the valiant personnel of the security agencies.
The prime minister also sympathized with the family members of the martyred security personnel and prayed for the early recovery of the injured.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail strongly condemned the attack on the Stock Exchange and said the attack was aimed at “tarnishing our relentless war on terror.”
“Strongly condemn the attack on PSX aimed at tarnishing our relentless war on terror. Have instructed the IG & security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators are caught alive and their handlers are accorded exemplary punishments. We shall protect Sindh at all costs,” he tweeted.

Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah also condemned the attack which he said was “tantamount to attacking the national solidarity and the economy” and tarnighing the image of the country.
He appreciated law-enforcement agencies for the prompt response and instructed them to remain vigilant. The chief minister anti-state elements can take advantage of the coronavirus pandemic. He also directed to launch a complete inquiry into the incident and submit a report.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar also condemned the “cowardly attack” in Karachi and said the security forces defended the stock exchange bravely.

“Security personnels defended Pakistan Stock Exchange bravely! My prayers for the martyrs. May Allah give their families strength to deal with this loss, ” said the chief minister.

Pakistan Muslim Leave-Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz said the attack of this scale which was planned and executed was “unsettling”.

PM’ aide Shahbaz Gill in a tweet said the prime minister has condemned the attack.
“Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan condemns the terrorist attack on the Karachi Stock Exchange. The security forces bravely fought the enemy and thwarted the attack,” he tweeted.
Gill added the whole nation was proud of its brave soldiers. “I have extended my heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs and pray for the recovery of the injured.”

Aseefa Bhutto Zardari saluted all the brave officers who fought back and killed the terrorists.
“Strongly condemn the cowardly attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange in Karachi. Salute our brave officers who fought back and killed the terrorists. Reports still coming in about loss of innocent lives, praying for the victims of the terrible attack and their families,” she said.
