DUBAI: The United Arab Emirates has announced to end the national sterilisation program and allowed the movement of individuals throughout the day without restrictions.
Children under the age of 12 will be allowed in malls and restaurants, although stringent measures must be followed, including social distancing and wearing masks, according to Saif Al Dhaheri, spokesperson for the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, UAE.
The national sterilisation programme included all facilities in the UAE including public transportation and metro service, and the sterilisation of public and private facilities, which will continue in order to preserve the health and safety of the public.
Public gatherings remain prohibited and people have advised to avoiding family visits, maintaining social distancing norms, and wear masks and gloves when leaving home. While travelling, people must abide by the three people per car limit however, members of the same family are allowed to travel in the same vehicle.
The laws and fines put in place by the UAE remain in place to ensure the safety of the citizens, residents and visitors. Residents of Dubai will be allowed the freedom to go out anytime, while adhering to various preventive measures such as wearing masks and social distancing.
Al Dhaheri warned against violating the preventive and precautionary measures affirming that legal action will be taken against any violators in order to ensure public safety.
He urged all media outlets to continue their constructive role in nation-building and to shed light on the importance of complying with all COVID-19 measures in support of the efforts made to survive the crisis.
