Pakistan strongly condemns ongoing state-terrorism in IoK

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly condemned the ongoing state-terrorism and extrajudicial killings of innocent Kashmiris in so-called “cordon-and-search” operations in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IoK). 

In a weekly press briefing, the Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui has said that the situation in IoK continues to deteriorate due to the brutal military crackdown by Indian forces.

She said that the Indian forces have again completely shut-down the internet in the occupied valley after the Indian forces claimed the life of another local Kashmiri fighter in a so-called “encounter.” 

She further said, “Indian forces continue their relentless campaign of oppression and brutalization on the Kashmiri people despite the coronavirus pandemic.”

The Spokesperson also said that India must realize that it cannot break the will of the Kashmiri people and can’t suppress their indigenous resistance movement through the use of force.  

Aisha Farooqui reiterated that Pakistan also categorically rejects the baseless Indian allegations of “Infiltration”, which were designed to divert attention from India’s grave human rights violations in IoK.

The Spokesperson once again urged the international community to raise voices against the Indian atrocities on the Kashmiri people, and hold India accountable for its illegal actions.

Aisha Farooqui also urged India to refrain from any ill-considered and irresponsible move which could have serious implications for peace and security in the region.

Commenting on the repatriation of stranded Pakistanis, she said that from 21st March till yesterday, 19,329 Pakistani nationals have been brought back from different countries around the globe.
