KARACHI: The Sindh government has ordered the police to strictly implement the lockdown orders on account of Shab-e-Barat due to the outbreak of the coronavirus across the country.
On this occasion, people visit their deceased relatives’ graves and offer prayers for their afterlife but due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Sindh government has strictly prohibited the activity.
District administration, Rangers and police have been strictly advised to ensure that people stay in houses on this occasion and do not visit mosques or cemeteries.
In this regard, the scholars have also appealed to the people to stay at their homes as the special prayers for Shab-e-Barat has been postponed due to the lockdown. “Follow the instructions of the government to stay safe from the virus, and pray at houses,” the scholars requested.
