SARGODHA: A man shot dead his wife, father and mother-in-law over a dispute in Kot Momin area of Sargodha on Wednesday.
According to sources, the accused opened fire on his wife, father and mother-in-law over a dispute within the limits of Kot Momin police station. As a result, they suffered severe bullet injuries and died on the spot, while two other people were also sustained bullet injuries.
Police said the accused fled the scene after committed the crime. Citing the dispute the police said the man’s wife had moved the court for divorce, which angered the man.
Meanwhile, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar took the notice of killing and sought a detailed inquiry report from the RPO. He ordered to probe the incident adding that the accused should be arrested at the earliest.
The Regional Police Officer said FIR was registered against the killer. He said the alleged killer has been charged with three counts of murder, two counts of attempted murder.
He said the culprit would be brought to justice soon, adding that the police had besieged the area and raids were being conducted to arrest the killer. The police official also said an investigation team containing senior police officials has also been formed to probe the incident.
