PUNJAB: Three suspects attacked a young girl with acid in Ismail Awan village of Daska Punjab over the refusal of a marriage proposal on Sunday.
As per details, the incident took place within the jurisdiction of the Mothra police station, where three accused entered a house and thrown acid at the girl. As a result, the girl’s body including face and arms burnt severely.
Police said after committed the crime the accused fled from the scene. However, they said a case was registered against the accused and conducting raids for the arrest of the accused, police added.
Citing the incident a police official from the Mothra police station said acid attack burnt face and body parts of the girl and she was shifted to a hospital in Lahore for treatment.
Sources further said the girl is in a critical condition in hospital with 70% burns. On 21 February, A man allegedly threw acid on his wife in Mansoorabad area of the Faisalabad.
According to the police sources, the woman had come to her parents’ house after a quarrel with her husband over her in-laws’ attitude.
The suspect along with his brother and their friend had approached the woman at her parents’ house late at night and ran away after throwing acid on the woman, police added.
The woman’s family had alleged that the woman’s husband and his brother used to torture her a lot and often beat her up severely.The woman had been shifted to a hospital.
According to the doctors, the woman’s face and arm have been severely burned. However, her condition was out of danger, doctors added.
The police have registered a case against the suspect, his brother and three other men and started a search for their arrest. The family of the victim demanded justice form authorities and called for the arrest of culprits.
