KARACHI: Karachi police claimed to have arrested a suspect for allegedly pouring acid on his wife in Malir area of the metropolis.
According to sources, the suspect identified as Shahid Masih threw acid on his wife, Michelle over a domestic dispute in the Khokhropar area Malir. As a result, his wife sustained burn injuries on his face. She was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for treatment.
Sources said that the couple had contracted a ‘free-will’ marriage in 2015. The reasons behind the attack said to be a money dispute. The police have registered a case and started investigations into the matter.
On February 10, a woman had thrown acid on her husband in the Azizabad area of the metropolis. Police said the woman Farzana had thrown acid on her husband, which also injured her 10-year-old son.
The couple had married on their own will. Police added she had fled to the scene after committing the crime. Later police arrest her and started further investigation.
