ISLAMABAD: On behalf of Pakistan Special Assistant to the PM on Health Dr Zafar Mirza will partake in the video conference of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) member countries on coronavirus pandemic today.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi called for the video-conference over the coronavirus pandemic issue. India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar also wrote on Tweeter:
“PM @narendramodi will lead India at the video conference of all SAARC member countries, to chalk out a strong common strategy to fight COVID-19 in the region”.

The main aim of the conference to support the World Health Organisation’s recommendation on the diseases to shun public gatherings is being organized for the formulation of a joint strategy by Saarc member nations to manage and monitor the Covid-19 outbreak.
Dr Zafar Mirza will be attending the conference. Pakistan’s rejoinder to the suggestion came with Foreign Office Spokesperson Aisha Farooqui saying the hazard of COVID-19 needed harmonized efforts at global and regional levels.
