KARACHI: Sindh government has issued a notification for an appointment of Dr. Naseem-ul-Ghani Sahito as the new Director-General (DG) of the Sindh Building Control Authority.
The outgoing DG Ashkar Dawar has been replaced over corruption allegations and has resigned from his post immediately. He was also dejected after 28 officers were suspended from the organisation.
Speaking to the MM News, Ashkar Dawar said that the company was in a dire strait of affairs and rather ineffective, He expressed concerned and said that the manner in which he was abused yesterday was unacceptable and he could not work in such an organisation.
Ashkar Dawar said that the authorities have the right to reject or approve my resignation but it was good that the new director-general has taken charge. A notification has been issued with the approval of Chief Secretary Mumtaz Ali Shah.
The notification has directed Secretary Commerce and Industries Dr. Naseem Al-Ghani Sahito to immediately take charge as Director-General Sindh Building Control Authority.
The Supreme Court has directed the Sindh government to remove all corrupt officers from the SBCA. After which 28 corrupt officers have been suspended and their inquiry has been started.
The current situation at the SBCA may prove to be a major challenge for newly arrived director-general as protests have started over the suspension of officers.
