KARACHI: Pakistani writer Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar has always been in the news for all the right and wrong reasons.
Yesterday, in a talk show aired on a private TV channel, the writer engaged in an ugly argument with social activist and analyst Marvi Sarmad while debating over the upcoming event of Aurat March.
In response Marvi’s slogan ‘Mera Jism Meri Marzi’, Khalil-ur-Rehman replied with abusive words and was interrupted by Marvi. Khalil-ur-Rehman used abusive language which triggered the situation further and the host had to intervene.
While a video clip went viral on social media with #Khalil-ur-Rehman and #Marvi Sarmad trending top on Twitter.
I am shocked at what I have just heard and seen!! Sick to the core. This same man who abused a woman on tv is revered and given project after project because of what? We are as much to blame if not more for perpetuating this thinking! #khalilurrehmanqamar

Many celebrities were rightly shocked and took to Twitter to share their reactions over Khalil-ur-Rehman’s highly inappropriate attitude:
آپ کو نہیں پسند
ٹھیک ہے
نظریے سے اختلاف ہے ، مناسب !
مگر یہ طرزتکلم تواس مخبر خاتون کے ساتھ مولا علی کا بھی نہیں تھا جس نے جنگ میں مخبری کا کام سر انجام دیا
