KARACHI: Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed has ordered the authorities to make the Karachi Circular Railways (KCR) project functional within six months.
Supreme Court earlier today conducted the hearing of the KCR case in which CJP Gulzar Ahmed took the decision of making KCR functional at a designated time.
During the hearing at Karachi registry, CJP warned that he would issue the contempt of court notices to Prime Minister and Chief Minister Sindh if his orders are not implemented on time.
Meanwhile, Sindh advocate general Salman Talibuddin told that they needed more time as the restoration of 24 gates of KCR was a difficult task.
“You people do not want to improve the system as you just come up with long written stories,” the CJP remarked.
In this regard, earlier Sheikh Rasheed also assured that he was working with the Sindh government to complete the KCR project. There were so many hurdles in the circular railway project but working with the Sindh government to complete it, he added.
We can meet the deficit of railways if we sell even one building in Karachi,” he said.
